Chemo Caps
The story behind Chemo Caps
It was mid-March 2024 when I received the news that I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
I knew my life was going to change completely, and while I prepared as best I could, it was hard to be ready for all that was going to happen. I had already transitioned from a relaxed/”permed” hairstyle to a natural hairstyle, and I knew the importance of having satin or silk-lined scarves, hats, and headwear to protect my hair. When I lost my hair, it was devastating to me. I did not see any headwear in the marketplace that reflected me, my style, my culture, or my flair...
God blessed me with the gift of sewing, and I knew that I wanted and needed to do something different.
From that inspiration, the Chemo Cap was born: a satin-lined turban that is soft, breathable, washable, and fashion-forward.
The goal is to share my journey with other women and use a percentage of what is sold to bless another woman experiencing this unfortunate disease.
Would you consider supporting me with a purchase of a Chemo Cap?
While the price point may be higher than other options, please know that a percentage will be donated and that they are made with love and care.
The feedback has been very positive. My nephew has locs and could not find a satin-lined cap to protect his hair. When he asked if he could use one of my Chemo Caps, it brought a smile to my face to know that I was not only able to help women but also my nephew.
